Complaints and Common Faults

  • 1. Fuel system issues:

    • Fuel system failure due to bosch-supplied CP4 high-pressure fuel injection pumps not compatible with U.S. fuel standards.
    • Code P2201 setting, causing truck to go into limp mode and reduce power.

  • 2. Frame issues:

    • Horton ambulance had the fuel tank fall from the frame, several ambulances with cracks in the frame in danger of falling off.

  • 3. Brake system issues:

    • Integrated trailer brakes failed on I64 westbound, no warning given by truck, manual brake option had to be used.

  • 4. Tire pressure monitoring:

    • Difficulty in checking tire pressure on inside tire of dually, need to remove outside tire to access.

  • 5. Suspension issues:

    • Violent shaking on highway, known as "Death wobble", occurring during changes in road surface, such as going over a bridge or rough pavement. Difficult to maintain steering until the truck stops shaking.
